Mileage

The Mrs. and I were trying to figure out how many miles we have put on the Winslow. The best we can figure is 35 to 40K which led me to looking for a way to keep track for maintenance or whatever purposes. I came across the Hub-O-Meter. Anyone used one or found another mechanical way that works. I know I could keep a log book but I gave up most record keeping when I retired.

I keep a log book on my land yacht since I'am getting old and can't remember what I did yesterday. I just use the date millage and whatever I messed with, easy.

I use MilesTrac Online on my Android phone. Works great. Can export data to Excel spreadsheet. It is not a free app, but worth it. I track mileage and campground cost. We've towed our Excel Winslow just shy of 60K miles. Highly recommend this app.

I keep a log book one end of the book is the dates of a trip, where to , trip miles and a running log, keep one year to a page. On the other end is log of problems with the date and what it took to fix the problem, and mods made. I use a Simple spiral note book like the kids use for school.

I used a Hub-O on my 5ver, 'till I swapped the steel wheels for Alcoa's! Worked fine.

My 2012 Ford truck has an odometer that is dedicated to towing only. I only tow the RV so there's my record ov miles to date. I also take mileage from the odometer and track matinence.

Thanks for the suggestions. A log book is probably the cheapest but if I get distracted, well, you know. That is why I like the mechanical version. I looked at the Android app, Russell, and it looks like an option. Not really that big of a deal now with the Never Lube axles but it would let me set up a mileage interval for checking for looseness.

We use the mileag on the trucks (past and present) allow what little non towing miles we have. Course it helps a lot since both trucks had been bought new.. don't let that never lube fool you. We have a story and there has been others.

I've had a Hub-O-Meter on both my FW. Great way to keep track of towed miles.
