I have only ever seen two other Excel trailer, never seen an Excel Camper and I have never seen a newer 5-th wheel like everyone here has.

Excel does not display trailers in the RV shows here in Salt Lake and the nearest dealer is in Wyoming.

I contacted Excel and asked if they would be interested in a picture of our trailer and I was told they weren't interested because today's Excel has nothing to do with the old Excel Company.

This was the first Excel I had seen not including ours. I contacted the owner to see if they were interested in selling it and he said no. I think it's about a foot longer than ours and the floor plan is flipped.

Kenny,

It's so good to hear from you again! The gas light looks nice!

If you read through this thread, you'll notice there are 2 different brands of Excels. One built by Peterson Industries in Smith Center, KS and the other from a manufacturer originally built in CA and then later in Carson City, NV. The picture of the old trailer in the field is one from Carson City as it has a different style of Excel emblem. Just FYI.

After looking at the pix.....I thought the same thing, but didn't know for sure and didn't say anything (you know how shy I am! )

We still love ya and how do ya know, you may want a PI Excel one of these days. And if want an antique, mine will be for sale someday soon!

Stay around and stay in touch! I still think your ride is a beauty! rockin'

Redcow sent this photo of a '86 Excel 18ft. bumper pull. He said it went at the auction yesterday in North Platte, NE for $4200. The story goes that the original owner (estate sale) had it built with extra thick walls and storm windows 'cause he used it for hunting. Red said it looked nice, with some external hail damage, but the interior was like new. Check it out.

Bet old Workshop is looking at this thing...just licking his chops! Thanks for sharing Red, Tom
