Not Important Now But Maybe Later
Just out of curiosity I decided to check the used value of my Winslow on NADA (makes for a good cry). I couldn't find my model listed in the 2013's, only in the 12's. My guess is it is because PI only offered my model for a short while in during the 2013 model year and probably was not listed in their brochure.
Not a problem now but could be when it comes time to trade up to a Limited so we can park on the front row with Tom.

I think NADA sometimes accidentally overlooks a model year. When we bought our 2005 SOB (the first year our SOB floor plan was manufactured) in 2008 there was no listing for the 2005 - I had to use the 2006 listing to get an idea of its value.

And get invited to one of our "big time happy hours"!!! Like Bryan said, do you buy an RV for an investment?
One of our friends told me when we bought our first RV....don't you realize how much that thing will depreciate and a home will usually appreciate? I said I was so tired of appreciation over the years of home buying....I wanted to use up all this money burning a hole in my pocket!!! That sure shut him up. Never heard another word about it from then on. Ha! What can they say? rockin'

The Winslow depreciation is a piece of cake compared to the diesel motorhome we used to own. If I had to list the things I worry about it would be near the bottom. After 2 pop-ups, 5 fifth wheels and 2 motorhomes in the past 40 years I am expert in depreciation. And don't let me start about the bass boats that have frequented my garage. My post was just an observation on a cold morning with not much else to do.

Jim,
With all that experience, I'm surprised you're not the SKIA here. You got more knowledge about this stuff than we'll ever know! It's a honor to have you here. I had never even stepped in a RV 10 years ago. You are a depreciation king pin for sure. RVs are right behind the boat routine for sure. THE MONEY PIT! But are ya happy? That's what I thought....head on my brother! With all your knowledge, I'd gladly spring for the happy hour....top shelf for you my man! rockin'

Appreciation on a house! Where! How!
I was glad after 10 years to get what we paid, we literally got the price we paid for the house 10 years ago.
RV's are not an investment..... Now a boat, that is an investment......

When people talk about their house appreciating they forget to take into account the expenses for taxes, insurance and maintenance. An RV also has expenses for taxes, insurance and maintenance; but those costs don't come close to what they cost for our house

Guess I should have said my appreciations in our homes were many years ago. We profited on one home about 2 times what we paid in 8 years of living in it and the other about 1.60 times what we pay for it (also 8 years). Not bad, and very lucky. Our last home we got $3,100 more than we were asking. Of course we were always doing update and all. I'm sure days like that are gone. We never plan on owning a home again at this stage of our life. rockin'
