Last attempt on posting in here.
I thought this site was very helpful at first but last 3 post which I thought would be simple to answer to you veterans seemed to be ignored,to busy planning for the ralley and festiities I guess. but they are things I need to learn .
The last I will ever bither you with is about double towing .In Missouri you can double tow with a limited length of 65 feet .Is this total from front bumper of truck to very end of second tow vehicle or just length of trailers? I see overnight tractor trailers pulling doubles that I can not believe could be shorter than my 30 fifth wheel and a jon boat. Sorry for any inconvenience

You need to measure from the very front of the bumper on the truck to the bumper on the last unit being towed. That will give you a total length.

Steve,N,Jan, That's my initial reaction to the above quoted portions of your most recent post.
I thought 'RustyJC' did an outstanding job answering your tire questions and the other two posts also received responses??

Overall length is stem to stern or bumper to bumper. If I understand your facts, you're stating your TV and 30' Excel with a 'Jon' boat is longer than 65'?

As noted above, the tow length is from the front bumper of the truck to the rear end of the last trailer in line. Some states have longer total rig lengths and others have shorter lengths. Some states do not allow any double tow. Even if you are legal in your home state, you still have to meet the vehicle requirements for double towing for length in the states you travel through.

I don't know how current this is, but just a quick Google search of "state towing laws" I found Towing World's chart.

No matter if you do get an answer here to your question on double towing in Missouri, for liability sake, I would still call the state dept of transportation or the state highway patrol to find out where you can get that specific information.
