Doc, Charm didn't "burn up the engine" on the Tug. He was under capacity on GCWR @ 23,500 and we're 26,200 going down the road. Adding a little tuner and old age made him lose headgaskets on the big hill! I wasn't gonna sink a dime more in him. With Bullet we are now in capacity. What I was doing was as silly as some folks that try adding airbags and higher rated tires to cover for having a truck that doesn't have enough payload capacity!!!

Got a toothache yet? I can give you a referral.....

I'm wise enough not to exceed capacities, let alone by nearly 3K lbs.

At least I admit it! When Tug was purchased, I was still working. I looked at the C4500-5500 Top Kick-Kodiak, but could not get over the looks of that ugly looking lumber wagon. And living in 4WD country (Kansas City) none were available. So that's my stupid story....And I'm stickin' to it. I'm legal now and I'll wait for the scale papers to see if you are too!!!
Are we beating a ???? rockin'

Doc I haven't been here long enough for Rockin' to needle me but if my pin weight comes in at 2999 next month I'm sure I get some toothbrush warnings. Just brush him off and challenge him to a parallel parking competition or tell him your buying lunch but only at a drive thru. Gotta stick up for my SRW pals!

Thanks Brad....poor ol' needs the help....between the 2 of ya, you have 2 little wheels in the back which together equals a dually!!!!
So far in 10 years of owning a dually.....haven't had an issue with anything like parking or ? (oh well, I did get stuck in the car wash one time-long story) I will grant you the duals don't tread very loose sand on the beach well. Don't do that often. Not that bad for not be over payload on the truck! rockin'

I thought you wanted to drop this truck deal!!!
Ice is for drinks! I've driven it in a little dusting of snow near Topeka last Oct. after leaving SC heading to KC. Solid as a rock. Some folks weren't so lucky. rockin'

In the end it's all personal preference. After driving a dually for a few years we just found the SRW more comfortable for non towing use and fine for towing. Since I'm still running a business, I use my truck a lot in between trips too and the SRW works better on those missions. Though I want to tow safe the touring when unhitched is important to us and we just find the SRW works better for us. If the DRW works for Rockin' and others that's good too.
At 8500# our SRW is still a big TV and performed well with our previous FW. However if I feel uncomfortable/unsafe when we start pulling a trailer near 15k I'll go DRW anyway. With Russell's experience detailed here I'm pretty confident I won't need to go that route.
