Power Cord

Do any of you know if anyone sells a power cord with the screw-on 50 amp end for the Excel on one end and a 15 amp end that would plug into Honda 2000 generator on other end? I haven't seen any in my travels. Is it something that I'd have to buy the ends and have an electrician wire one up for me ? I'd love to have a 5' one with this configuration instead of hauling out the big one and all the step down plugs to use the generator.

The only company I know of that sells that product is MARINCO. Wholesale Marine carries it, not sure if it can be special ordered from CW. They are expensive as you can see. MobileMart and CW sells a 50a-30a where an adapter will be needed to get to 15a.

As I don't always stay where 50 amp is available....we bought a 50a-30a cord to use rather than dealing with the 50a cord. The 30a is so much simpler. That might be an option for you also....and use a 30a-15a adapter at the generator and in parks that have 30a only. I also installed this Power Inlet on my unit and it is connected to the black leg of my panel to power the converter and 90% of the electrical needs in the unit. I use a 20a extention cord plugged in while at home rather than having to use other connections.

I too use a 1' cord with a 50 amp Marineco on one end (Hooks to the motor home) and a 30 amp RV type plug on the other, then I use standard 30 amp cords from there

THen if plugging into a 15 amp outlet I just use a 30-15 dogbone

Wow B2, That's living on the edge!!! Don't want to turn on a 20 Watt bulb with that set up.....and you better have a good solid breaker at that!!!

All you need is this: http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/r...al-adapter.htm

It's what we use to hook up to our Honda 2000 generator.

Linda, I am glad you posted that link, I was trying to find a photo of that adapter. That is the only one I use, haven’t used a dog bone in four years.

Great info, one and all. That adapter looks like just the ticket.
