You are correct. "Flip the axles" is a misnomer and I have misused it here.

I was trying to remember how they did the perch on my old rig when they moved the springs to the top. I guess the perch would have originally been below with the u-bolt on top, unless the axle has perches on top and bottom.

Can someone help me out here?

The guy at Benett's said they brought thru a snowstorm on the way down, so I guess it did get salted. (Either that or they pre-rust them in the ghetto model.)

Who is this Gene that is being referred to? I am considering raising my 2010 Excel RT26TRW to fit a new taller truck and my local rv shop says it can't be done. Thanks

Gene is Gene's Frame Shop in Farmington, NM.
Are your springs below or above the axle?

It can be done and Gene can do it,,But your no here near here (Farmington). Most decent rv shops or frame shops can do this.. check around more near you. It is not a big job.

Springs are below the axles. My thought is to move the springs above the axles which will lift the trailer more than I want but then to lower the trailer with the adjustments on the shackles. Thanks for the info.

Sounds like a plan. A good one. That's what I did with my old Alfa.

Im taking mine in later this week to get flipped. It dont sit too bad now but I need to lower the fifth wheel plate to get more clearance on the box rails. A local welding shop near by in West Point Ne builds trailers. They estimated it will cost $250 to do the flip. I was going to do it myself but for that price im going to let them do it.
