I guess we will let you retain the SKIA title for the Sewage Dept. since you spend so much time down there. Otherwise it's Washout for all other postings!

Never ever allow Engineer to be used in any title for Washout, it will go to his head and we will have big problems with him that it will take several of use to bring him back to earth.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I'll keep quiet until you're finished helping me on my awning issue.

Oops, I should have kept my mouth shut. I'm now having the same issue with false gray tank readings (bad Karma, I guess)! Gray tank valve is open (i.e., tank has to be empty), but it's reading anything but empty. The number (% full) seems to change at random each time I press the button on the monitor. I closed the gray dump valve and added some holding tank chemicals through the galley sink. I'm hoping it's just soap scum or something on the tank wall and the chemicals will clean things up in there.

Thanks Glenn. Mine is still doing the same thing. Every time I put a little chemical in it and let a little gray water build up in it clears up for while. However, I've never got a reading of more than 27% (I think) then it reads properly. Sealevel's website says that it "could" be build up on the tank wall. I'm still being very careful with the stuff we put down the drain! Black reading has always been knats-ass on the money. rockin'

Well, I guess I'll ask Ralph (RV Sales) about this issue as well. I closed the gray tank valve earlier this week and put a couple ounces of holding tank chemicals down one of the drains. Yesterday evening, the gauge was reading 90%, so I dumped the gray tank, afterwhich it read 0% (great!). Figured I would do one more cycle with chemicals, fill the tank again, then dump before going back to just leaving it open. Woke up this morning and the gray tank gauge was reading 85%!

Sounds like a bad case of sleep-washing.

Just talked to Ralph at RV Sales; looks like our new awning motor won't be in until mid next week, and they will be closed the entire Labor Day weekend, so we have an appointment for 10 Sep to have the awning repaired. I was going to have Ralph check out our SeeLevel issue, but I don't really want to wait another two weeks if possible. I read and re-read the manual, and then called Tech Support at Garnet Instruments (877-668-7813). The Tech told me to check the blue and black wires at the gray tank sender. According to the Manual (Chapter 6, Installation Guide, para 12), "make sure that the wires from the sender are routed away from the sender; if they drape over the sender they could affect the reading". The Tech told me that these wires may have come loose and are now too close to the sender.

Anyone know how to access the sender and wires on the gray tank?

Thanks for the info Glenn.....I've been putting off calling Garnet as I have had bigger issues to deal with.

I would guess that the sensors and wires are at the rear of the tanks where you have the access door in the belly blanket. On my '05 Excel. I had to remove the door, cut out the polyflex on the inside of the framing of the access door with a utility knife. Then cut out the pink insulation with the same knife. You now have limited access to the back of the grey and black tanks and waste gates (and hopefully the tank sensors and wiring). That would be the logical place for them. If you check yours....please let us know your findings.

The interesting thing is to me.....don't you think if this issue was caused by the wires being to close to the sensor......it would have been an issue from day one? Just makin' ya think!!!!

Interesting that it is only on the GREY tank also?
