SeeLevel Gauge Level Accuracy

SeeLevel Gauge Level Accuracy:

I did test tonight on my SeeLevel gauge accuracy on the grey tank.

I filled a 5 gallon bucket in the shower and read the SeeLevel after each dump.

Grey tank capacity = 67 gallons (per brochure)

0 gal = 0%
5 gal = 8%
10 gal = 17%
15 gal = 29%
20 gal = 38%
25 gal = 50%
30 gal = 63%
35 gal = 71%
40 gal = 83%
45 gal = 92%
50 gal = 100%
55 gal = 100%
60 gal = 100%
65 gal = 100%
70 gal = 100%

Water began backing up into kitchen sink at 70 gallons.

Flow rate:
Shower: 5 gallons in 3 1/2 minutes
Kitchen sink: 5 gallons in 5 minutes

I like that. Now of real interest will be your black tank test. 😀

I like my seelevel gauges, but mine reads about like your results, in my case it's the shape of the tank, to bad they don't make it where you can manually calculate it, ah well it's still better than the 1/3 1/3 1/3 gauge.

Thanks for sharing Doc. I would rather it show 100% at 50 gals than at 70 gals. which is seam splitting time! When I replaced my grey tank sensor when it was new I think I got it a bit closer to actual than yours.

Doc, I think I'm met my match on analism. rockin'

Those of us that frequent parks without sewer hookups expect holding tanks that can be filled to rated capacity without fear of splitting.

Your readings makes me wonder if we are installing the sensor strip as high as possible. I'll go out and check to see if we can/should move them up a little.

Great bit of information, Russell. Thank you very much. At present I have no issue with the stock level indicators but I suspect we will put See Level Indicators on the new rig.
Thanks
Jeff

I agree with you, and must think that MoHo use a different mounting system. rockin'

Then change the mounting system or make an optional system for those of us who need it.

In an ideal world, I agree. But, when installing my See Level system, I learned of some of the variables. Like, the corners of the tanks are not square, but rounded, sometimes generously rounded. That's gallons of water that can't be recorded.

Having said that. What I really appreciate about the See Level system as compared to the factory installed systems, is the repeatable accuracy. Once you know what the gauge readings mean, it never changes. It makes it a really good system to have.

Jim, I was not referring to the SeeLevel mounting.

I was referring to the holding tanks and how they are mounted and supported.
