Shackle hanging bracket

Reece
Just checked mine on my 2007 FLR 35 and they are completely different. Much beefier. Hope this is the end of your shackle problem.

Thats how mine are but I boxed in the open ends for additional strength because my springs are in the bottom hole. It makes no sense why PI has changed the design to a weaker one.

Not if they come back under warranty and a bad reputation grabs hold.

Most of them don't fail in the first two years while in warranty. Plus, many owners don't tow far or often.

I accidentally posted this on the wrong thread so here goes again where it is supposed to be...

I posted this on Facebook (Excel by Peterson Industries Owner's Group) but thought it needed to be posted here also for those who might be concerned about their hanger brackets. There is a way to check your welds for small cracks and identify needed repairs before they actually fail. It is called dye penetrant testing. You simply spray this special white dye on a weld and wait about 15 minutes. If there is even a microscopic crack it will show up as a fine red line. If no line then no crack. Checking your welds periodically might save you a big headache while on a trip. Here is a photo of my product. I bought it at the local welders supply for about $12 for both the dye and the cleaner.

I hope this helps someone.

... Or the company we were buying the adjustable suspension kit from discontinued it...

So in order to provide our customers the most flexible and usable system we could, we are making it instead of offering nothing.
