Slider hitch needed?

Curious how many here have a slider hitch installed and have needed to use it?

If we had a short-bed truck, we wouldn't pull a fifth wheel without one. You may not need to use it very often, but when you need it, you'll be glad you have one.

We use a SuperGlide 16K and never have to think about it. It's easy to get distracted and it only takes one mistake with a short-bed pickup and a fixed hitch to cause a lot of damage. I know a body shop owner who says he fixes a lot of pickup cabs with 5er damage.

But I have some friends with short beds and fixed hitches who never have problems. I guess the SuperGlide is like buying insurance. You rarely need it, but if you do it's wonderful.
