I have used that same set-up with quick-release connectors on the flush inlet and the hose. I just hooked it up when flushing. I would then put a spray nozzle, with another quick-release connector, on the hose when done.
It wasn't because I was worried about someone turning on the valve, I'm not that clever. It was because my DW likes to water the greenery.
