Just read over on the HDT Escappees web site that Teton was foreclosed today. Another top of the line goes under.

Well, my guess is that Excel just got a little stronger, because Teton was one of their competitors. It's just one less high end 5th wheel manufacturer to compete with.

Excel is doing ok. It's been a tough year on all manufacturers. If there is one that says things are great, don't believe them.

Our fall business is picking up nicely. Please read my post "Excel Update From Bryan" at the top of the page. I stated our condition as honestly as I possibly could. Since then, things have improved and it's looking like we are going to have a solid fall.

As I stated before, Vaughn Peterson spent his entire career making sure our company could weather financial storms and I'd say we're in pretty good shape right now.

Thanks,
Bryan

Thanks Bryan,

When I read about Teton I hoped that PI could weather the storm until the tide turned. Thanks to Vaughn and you, PI will will come out of this stronger and with more customers to feed looking for a quality coach.

I think the tide HAS turned. There aren't a lot of additional coaches showing up on the for sale sites. There's a major report out that the horrendous oil spike was caused by speculation and little else. OPEC is scrambling to cut production and jack the price but it won't work. We won't see $2 a gallon again but we should see $3. JMO

Bryan--It is very good to hear the news. Thank you for the update and the honesty!

Scott--Have you looked at the 39SKM toyhauler floor plan that Excel offers now? Have you decided on a brand?

Cheers,

Bryan, thanks for the update -- hopefully, the tide is turning and 2009 will be a better year for all of us.

Quote from another forum--- " This is UNBELIEVABLE! We just visited the factory in July and were assured they were in great shape, were making huge profits on the oil skids and would not be ending production on 5th wheels! What really makes me SICK is we just took delivery on our Teton home August 28th, with lots of problems! I have been calling the factory and leaving messages everyday this week, with no response. Does anyone know if and how, the warranty will be honored? The dealer we purchased from is 1,100 miles away and I doubt they will care. "

You should always believe a salesman when they are talking!!!

SOo-just how many people would NOW be willing to order a Teton rv and put down a big deposit on that RV?

The newspaper article looks like just a PR stunt.

Teton needs to let the left hand know what the right hand is doing-- Maybe in a few days!

Sounds to me like "a failure to communicate" here. We have been at the Hershey RV Show all week and I can tell you that the dealer handling Teton's here has had posted signs on every Teton unit indicating that Teton IS out of business, but re-assuring folks that the dealership is in good shape. They are also trying to push these new rigs by extending the warranties. I believe this is a warranty through the dealership, not Teton Homes. I would have to think very long and hard before purchasing such a rig.
