Hey Tom, just south of you a few miles is the Smoke Jumpers Visitor Center which I found very interesting.

In the town of St. Ignatius, just north of you, is a small church with beautiful murals painted by the church cook.

We're at the Iowa State Fair Campgrounds in Des Moines, IA. We arrived Sunday and will spend six days here. It takes at least 10 years to get a reserved site, so we're set up in the "overflow" area (no electric, water, or sewer hookups). During the fair, it's said that the campgrounds becomes the 7th largest city in Iowa.

We headed to Victor, ID tomorrow, to meet up with friends (previous Excelers) from the east coast that are flying in. Should be lots of fun.

I stand corrected (what else is new?). The population of Clayton is 7 (registered to vote). 26 is the number of folks living in the immediate 20 mile radius! Man, is this beautiful country. Wouldn't want to live here, but man is it great to visit!

That's great Tom, are you going via Idaho Falls? If so there's a National Historic Monument I think may interest you. It's the EBR-1: Idaho National Laboratory - Experimental Breeder Reactor No.1 (EBR-I)

It's free and there's RV parking.

Here I am tweaking the reactor and practicing with remote-control manipulators.

That's kewl! Thanks for the heads up. Tomorrow we'll be heading that way, but on a time restraint. Maybe we can stop by on our way back west in a week or so. Sounds like a good stop. Thanks again Rob!

And keep a lookout for an old glass fuel pump, you don't see many of those any more, along the hiway in Mackay ID. Also as you drive through Arco ID be on the lookout for a naval submarine conning tower as you're leaving town.

Excel Service Center appt. 8/31/15

Made to St. Joseph MO from NH and am due at the Excel Service Ctr. Monday. Will have a Mor/Ryde SRE 4000 suspension installed (http://www.makariosrv.com/morryde-sre4000-suspension-system-sre2-733x-1/), an inspection of the gray tank replacement my son and I did last month+ replace the insulation, and fix a troublesome kitchen slide.

Will let everyone know how things go with the re-opened center. Am headed for Oregon and eventually to Yuma by mid-October for the winter. Can't complain about $290/month rent at the Riverfront RV Park after paying $800 in Lee NH (you're competing with tourist who don't mind spending $45 a day).
