Tampa Super Show iRV2 Social Recap

Hi Everyone,
The iRV2 Social was held today. 42 coaches were in attendance! This is a record attendance. Attendance is taken by the number of tickets given out for door prizes. The most interesting thing about the attendance was only 9 coaches were already members of iRV2! Once again I was amazed iRV2 remains a well kept secret. There was about 30 minutes of socializing with a variety of 60's music (just needed a wood floor and we would have been dancing). A variety of snacks were very plentiful. The snacks ranged from Krispy Kreme donuts, cookies, chips, dip, trail mix and many different snacks.

After the socializing, statistics from iRV2, Newmar Owners forum and NKK Forum were presented. The theme of this was "Nobody Knows Your Coach Like Somebody Who Owns One Just Like Yours". The value of iRV2 to an individual or organization was made clear.

Pictures were shown (all available on iRV2), and discussion was held on 11 modifications made to my coach. All the modifications were inexpensive and easy to do. A discussion was held on a couple topics of the day.

I announced this was my last social as host. I've been hosting this social for a number of years. It is time to pass the torch to ensure the social does not get "stale". New ideas and ways to expose iRV2 come from different people taking the helm. If you are interested in hosting this social please PM Route 66 or me (GaryKD) here on iRV2.

4 main door prizes were drawn. 8 minor door prizes were drawn. The social ended about 5:15 PM.

Based on the comments I have received all evening, everyone seemed to enjoy the social, thought it was well worth their time and will become members of iRV2.

It has been a great deal of fun and I'm sure different hosts will continue to make the social bigger and better than I leave it. The photo is the iRV2 banner being displayed next to the NKK banner.

On behalf of iRV2, we thank Gary for doing an outstanding job of hosting the iRV2 Socials.

Maybe dumb questions but...

What's the deal on the IRV Social?

Is it just once a year at the Tampa show?

Do you ever have anything at the Hershey show?

Thanks.

That is a question for iRV2. I have done only the Tampa Show.

The iRV2 social was started by several of us iRV2 members that were Newmar owners and NKK members attending the NKK rally at the 2007 Tampa show.

It was always a Tampa event as no one has volunteered to start a social at Hershey and Hershey doesn't have rallies and on site camping to the extent that Tampa does.

Here's some info on the social.

http://www.irv2.com/forums/f119/irv2...ow-228836.html

As of now, this was the last social. Gary is retiring and it's not clear if a potential host needs to be a Newmar owner and a NKK member to use the NKK tent, nor do we have a volunteer to host the social.
