'03 Challenger vent fan

From my old Challenger, the head vent fan motor is starting to moan and groan. Anyone happen to know where I might find a replacement motor or should I just start over? Thanks

Should be plenty of replacements on Amazon. I'm getting ready to add a second ac unit in my daybreak, was going to take the fan out of the bedroom and use it in the bathroom

That sounds like an interesting project. Do you need to upgrade to a 50 amp? I’d love to have a second AC but the 30 gets my unit into more camping spots then a 50 would.

Don't "need" a 50 amp (possible upgrade in the future) I can run 1 ac on 30 amp plugged in, but if you run the generator you can run both ac units. At least according to the info on the switches by the master bed

I replaced the vent fan motor on my bathroom vent a couple weeks ago. My vent is a 'Ventline'. The design has changed and the replacement motor from 'Ventline' has a different diameter shaft which requires a new fan blade.

I didn't have to change the fan blade as the original fit perfectly.
The new motor did not come with the mounting screws. I couldn't remove the screws from the original motor so I had to grind the heads off with a die grinder. I found replacement screws at my local Ace hardware store. I bought a couple extra screws just in case I dropped one and couldn't find it. The mounting screws are small ( I believe 5 mm ) and are hard to handle with these old beat up hands.
It looks like your wiring is like mine was. Two feet of wires to tuck back into the vent trim. I shortened the wires to make reassembly easier and a cleaner looking vent when it's all back together.

best thing to do is remove the old vent and install a MaxxAir or a Fantastic Fan. Works much better and much quieter.

These little units are certainly noisy, a point I will now consider. Does this make a case for procrastination or what!

The fans are a little noisy but they do move quite a bit of air. I only use mine when I use the toilet for a sit down session. This is the intended use for the vent to begin with. Others with me do the same.
If I want ventilation in my MH but don't need AC I run the fans in my AC (s). All my windows are operable also.

I can’t part with my bedroom Fantastic Fan. Total love it for dry camping and those cool nights. My solution for a second AC will be one of those small portable AC units. I just need to run a dryer vent outside. The potable AC units will run off a 110 power cord that most campgrounds offer as a hookup option or I’ll turn off the front AC and hookup the bedroom portable unit off a bedroom 110 outlet. Portable units are stowable, replaceable, reasonably priced, and will easily keep the bedroom cool.

Swap it out with a real fan like a Fantastic fan or Max Air. It is well worth the investment over the virtually useless factory unit.
