08 Tuscany 4076 Purchase

Hello Everyone,

I am very close to pulling the trigger and purchasing a low mileage 08 Tuscany 4076 pending the outcome of an independent inspection.
I wanted to ask you long time Tuscany owners if you are happy with your rigs and would you recommend an older model Damon.

There also seems to be some odd disparity with the options available for the Tuscany. The Damon sales literature is of no help. For example, the coach I am looking at is not equipped with the CD Radio on the dash underneath the HVAC controls. The odd thing I have noticed is the first cargo door on the passenger side is a top hinged door. The rigs that have the radio in the dash all appear to have a "side" hinged cargo door in the same location vs the top hinged. At first I thought it was just a fluke. However, I have looked at a number of these coaches and the oddity remains. I am curious if anyone could shed some light on why this might be.

Lastly, has anyone added an outside TV to these coaches?? I really wanted one but apparently it was not an option until 2010.

Thank you everyone.
Rob

I have had the identical coach for 10 years, currently
at 98,000.
It has been a wonderful experience. I had a few minor
issues in the beginning related to quality control items.
Nothing of any consequence since then. I am however
very maintenance oriented and have done all annual
service at a professional coach/bus dealer that knows
the chassis inside and out. I have all original components,
nothing has failed. I added a dishwasher and the
Splendide washer/dryer.
My only caution would be that a low mileage unit would
have been sitting a lot. Batteries and tires have life spans,
so likely will need both replaced. And you will need
help to establish a maintenance base line.
The front cargo door passenger side cam as top hinged.
The next two were side hinged to allow for cargo trays.
all the rest on the coach are top hinged.
Never wanted an outside TV, so have nothing to offer.
Stereo/navigation/CD,FM,AM all-in-one units varied greatly from
time to time and model to model.

That's funny, my front cargo door passenger side is side hinged.

Isn't it though........ I'll bet you have the factory in-dash radio. The Tuscany's I have looked at where the first cargo door is side hinged all have the stock radio installed under the HVAC controls. The rig's that did not have that option installed have been top hinged at the first door. I only started to notice because I would prefer side hinged. I dislike crawling underneath a cargo door to access the area.

Never thought about the bathroom cabinet. Thought it might be under the burner in the kitchen in an aftermarket install. Appreciate the info....

Below the gas cooktop. There was a cabinet, I removed
the center shelf, built up the bottom, trimmed the side,
and voila..dishwasher. I now will attempt to attach photos.

Outside TV Suggestion

Congrats on the new rig...
An option for an outside TV that we recently purchased and are enjoying how it works for us is a tripod mount.
We were hesitant to add a mount to the fiberglass and wanted a tv bigger than the 19in. that came with our 08 Fleetwood.
This option of using the tripod allows us to move the tv where we need it for viewing at the time. It swivels and angles up and down. Stows easily in side compartment..

Nice job on the install. That really looks good. What brand of unit is that?? I am only familiar with the "drawer" style units. Added bonus that it actually fits for the dimensions of the cabinet.

Never thought of a tripod mount. That's a good idea. What do you do with the tv when traveling?? Any type of protective case??

Outside TV Tripod Mount

Hey there Lawgiver,
We did purchase a fitted TV cover for when we leave it out at night while camping. Waterproof and Velcro fitted.
When traveling we just remove tv from mount, put cover on and lay it in one of our smaller cargo areas, its a perfect fit. Tripod folds up for easy storage.
Just got back from Nascar and the tripod was perfect for easy viewing at an angle which helped with glare.
Next purchase for it is the anti glare screen.

As to the dishwasher: go to this link, it is a Vesta built-in dishwasher.

Thanks for the link. Looks like a really nice unit.

@bepsi57 I like the tripod idea. Sounds like the easy solution for a TV outside.

Appreciate the help everyone.
