Thanks for the reply Damon Diva.

What brand/type/thickness of flooring did you end up using? Is it floating or glued? How is it standing up, especially with the rolls on the slide? We're still trying to figure out what best to use.

Here is a link to "flooring" search on the blog. It will give you the brand of the flooring along with pictures.

It is a waterproof vinyl plank flooring that "snaps into place...but We did glue it down. We still have to finish trimming out the slide fronts...but you can see 7 different posts with different info in that link above.

(Take a little time looking at the blog - there is all sorts of info throughout the many posts on it.)

Watching with extreme interest since I plan to start on this project on my 2000 Daybreak. Traveling companion does not like carpet, and who would put it in a bathroom?

Been busy here on the farm but finally back at it. Removed the carpet from hallway and around the bed. Anyone else run into the wires and water lines that run down each side of bedroom? Suggestions on recovering them. Found a relay under bed behind the electric breaker/fuse box anyone know what it's for?

I believe we have the same floor plan! My Daybreak is in winter storage an hour away, so it is good to see the progress you are making. Your project pictures are helping with the "cabin fever" planning and dreaming.

Now I understand the odd configuration along the side walls. I will be looking for your solution. The way the mfg did them may be how I wind up but there has to be a better solution. The original angled configuration looks like an ankle twister to me. Precious little space to work with.

We built a small raised area on each side of the bed so that we can get to the wires or pipes fairly easily.

Here is a photo of the flooring before the carpet being laid.

The platform is as high as a 2x4 board.

Thanks Damon Diva for the idea on the floor in bedroom. We're going with wood along side the bed and haven't decided what to do yet with wires and pipes.

On another note the "Boss" finally chose the Bruce engineered flooring she likes. Picked it up last Thursday night and loaded into the Daybreak on Friday. We were able to get the RV into our heated shop. It was a tight squeeze but it's in there and heats on set at 65. According to everything I've read (72 hours @ >60) I'll be able to start installing wood on main floor late today or tomorrow barring any problems

Jack-Do you know what the cabinet stain coloring name is from Damon? Your cabinets look like they may be the same stain color as ours. Do you think the tub skirting matches your cabinets well?

I noticed that our heat registers are also located in different locations between our two models. I think I might prefer your locations over mine... oh well.

Enjoy the flooring process...I am sure it was my DH favorite job - NOT!

Diva

I don't know the stain that was used for the cabinets at the factory. We used Minwax Ipswich Pine on a pine board and it looks very close. You don't notice the slight difference and the board is very close to the cabinet in the bathroom. I purchased this molding at Home Depot and it is an almost exact match to the cabinets. What a PIA under the slide was. Even after moving it in about 6" and then jacking it up as far as it will go it was still tight under there.

Finished the flooring in the hallway and down the passenger side of the bed. I thought under the slide was a pain this narrow area was worse. Hopefully will be working on drivers side of bed today.
Trying to get everything glued down so we can put it the RV back outside, then we'll install the moldings and make the wood boxes to cover the pipes and wires.
