2004 Damon Daybreak

Looking at a 2004 Damon Daybreak. Wondering if there are any known issues I need to lookout for. Supposedly the roof has been fully replaced in 2017. Wondering if there are any common issues with this model, or faults.

I have a 99 daybreak on the Chevy p32 chassis. I have not had any major issues with the unit itself. Just maintenance items like step controller, new board for the water heater, alternator ,. Real minor stuff. I would have no issue buying another damon.

Check the inside panels below both driver and passenger windows. Knock on all the area below the windows. You can here a dead or soft spot. That is rotted and has to be repaired. Caused by window or more often the mirror. Also check the step well. Open middle step and check for sign of water damage. Should be the big chunk particle board. There will be 2 lag bolts that are NOT sunken into the wood. Then with step extended have someone step up and step down on it and look all four mount bolts underneath bottom for play moving up and down. It is all framed out of steel and can be repaired.

I don’t have any outside the ordinary issues with my 03. Not heard of any other owners having a known problem. I had my refrigerator recalled after I had the ammonia leak. Still have the original refrigerator. I’m very pleased with the 03 model that received the 2003 JD Powers award for best RV value.
