2004 Intruder - slide out troubles

I am having troubles with my living room slide. The switch does nothing.

Both bedroom slides work just great.

I cannot hear the solenoid clicking. How can I check it. Its driving me crazy!

Could it be a weak battery? the generator starts, so I assume that the battery is good.

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maurice

Slide lock or ignition should affect everything.. I do not hear the solenoid click on my Intruder either... (2005)

Suggestion: Take a look under the slide.. If there are two long toothed rails there we are good.. Now look between the bottom of the slide and the basement compartment, under the slide, you should see a square shaft, running from one rail to a gear box to the other rail. There may be a 3/4" nut on the "Outside" of the rail (Inside is where the square saft is) on one end.... Or not.. (Do not worry about this now)

While watching the rail have someone push the botton for one second.

Does rail turn.

Does motor (Attached to gear box in middle) seem to run.

IF motor runs (or rails turn) you have sheared pins, these pins are 1/4" Grade 8 Bolts (normally) you want them long enough that the SMOOTH shank of the bolt goes all the way through the square shft.. Add washers (Flat not lock, and thick if you get 'em to build up the square shaft a bit so you can properly tighten down a NYLOCK nut.

I used to buy this stuff by the dozens in the old days, Still do but not as often since I started buying bolts long enough.

IF the motor is not running,,,,, You have a problem

If you need more help post, I have replaced a whole bunch of shear pins.

On my 2002 Intruder a turn key switch and the button is required to open and close the living room slide. There is not a key on the bedroom slide. I have thought to myself if the situation were to occur in which the bedroom slide was working and the living room slide does not I will check the connection on the back of that key switch.

kind of a long shot but I would be remiss if I didn't tell you.

Oops.. I forgot to update everyone on my slide out issue.

It works now. I did nothing except fully charge the battery. Maybe a low battery will not even move the slide.

Nonetheless, I'll keep the solar charger on her from now on.

The power gear slide used by Damon in 2005, and I assume 2004 uses a current sensor to sense when the slide is fully in or out.

If the battery is low the motor will draw excessive current, and the sensor says "End of travel" and shuts the it down.

So yes, Low battery will cause that.
