2007 Challenger Dash Disassembly

My rear view camera system failed and I am replacing it with a new RVS system. My first obstacle arose when I attempted to remove the factory-installed monitor from the dash. There is a simulated wood fascia that (I believe) holds the monitor and radio. Reaching around the left side to the backside of the dash, I can feel several nuts that seem to hold studs which are affixed to the fascia.

The problem is that I cannot get access to the copilot's side to remove the nuts I expect to find there.

I removed the two screws I could find that attach the lower "skirt" below the cup holders to see if pulling that would give access, but there must be something else that I can't find that's still holdin it. Can somebody who's been there point me in the right direction?

I would guess that each of the 3 panels come out. You might start by removing the radio and looking from that opening. It might be clips, screws, or clamps, but I'm sure you'll find that the panels come out for access.

Well, I got her done today. Sure enough, removing the lower skirt below the cup holders gave much easier access to the knurled plastic knobs that secured the old monitor.

I discovered that the trim rings on the top of the two cup holders snap off with strategic finger tugs around their circumference. Three Phillips head screws allow the cup holders to be lifted out and gives access to two torx sheet metal screws that secure the base of the skirt to the removeable doghouse cover.

Wasn't able to complete the installation of the RVS monitor, however. The ADTH black and white monitor called for an ever-so-slightly larger hole than the panel mounted RVS. I'll have to manufacture a mask of plastic or aluminum to sandwich between the simulated wood facade and the ABS plastic dash. Don't have the resources to do it here at the campground.

Thanks for the reply.
