2007 Tuscany roof AC/heat unit questions
As some of you may know, I am in the process of resurrecting a 2007 Damon Tuscany from various injuries.
Currently, I'm trying to get the rear roof top unit to properly operate. And exactly what is proper operation? Initially, the rear unit would not respond to any input from the remote. I found that the rear unit had no 12V power, due to severed power leads where the wires pass through the strain relief. Once I rewired (temporarily) 12V power, the roof top unit would only turn on and operate the fan. The rear unit would not turn on the furnace.
Investigating further, I compared the wiring on the front unit to the rear unit. I found that the front unit is wired to wiring labeled "furn T-stat", which makes sense for sure. But the rear unit has no such wiring.
So I ask, is this normal? Front unit controls the furnace and the rear unit just goes along for the ride?
BTW, these are NOT heat pump units.
I have a few pics below to show the wiring on the rear unit (1st pic) vs the front unit (2nd pic).

Rear AC/heat Unit
When you say that after rewiring that only the fan on the rear unit comes on, do you mean the fan on the AC unit, or the fan on the LP gas furnace? The fan on the AC unit should not come on in the heat mode, only the fan on the LP furnace.
As for my Damon Tuscany, I personally have not tried to operate the heat mode from the rear unit. I always turn the heat on from the front unit, just because the LP Furnace in in the front half of the RV and I can hear it when it clicks on. The LP Furnace fan will blow, but not the AC unit fan.
The AC fan should only come on when in the Cooling mode.

The rear unit cannot control the furnace, apparently. There is a fan only mode on the AC unit, and that does function properly for both units.
When I set the front unit for heat, the furnace lights and it's blower fan operates as it should, but it seems that the rear unit was never intended to control the furnace?

from factory the front roof top unit controls the lp heater.
the rear unit only controls the rear roof top unit.
when i replaced my units with airexell units i ran a new t stat wire through the ceiling and hid inside the slid covers then snaked down the tv cabinet and put the new t stats there.

Well, I guess the way I'm wired is correct from the factory...at least for our model years.
I worked for a while at a company that made coordinate measuring machines; their motto was "Every machine a prototype" I suspect the same applies to MH manufacturers.
And on a completely unrelated (not quite, but I'll explain) issue, does anyone need repair parts for a Splendide 2000 combo washer/dryer?
As a result of the seemingly minor accident that my Tuscany suffered, the washer/dryer unit went for a one way trip to never gonna work again.
I have the unit stripped down and will scrap some of it, but many components are still perfectly serviceable.
Splendide 2000, model WD 802.
I have:
Entire wiring harness
Main control board
Entire dryer subsystem with alum housing
Dryer vent hose (internal)
Filter housing complete
Entire front door with hinges
Assorted switches, valves, sensors.
Main pump and motor, drum drive motor.
If anyone wants these parts, or others, send me a PM. I've seen some outrageous prices for some of these used parts, I don't need to make a fortune, rather, I offer these parts to help someone trying to repair their washer/dryer at a reasonable cost.
And on an actual unrelated issue, I finally installed the replacement left arms for the 21 ft awning, complete with my home repaired brackets and torsion spring. All went well, even pop riveting the torsion spring assembly back into the roller tube. Yesterday was the first that I've seen the awning deployed, it looks like it has many years of life left and the drive motor works well too!
So the list of repaired issues grows longer, and the remaining list of necessay repairs grows shorter.

My roof top units are working well, it's the Splendide 2000 washer/dryer that I've reduced to parts...
