5 Minute Mod #3

Just finished R/R of house battery. Not much room to work and to make matters worse the all thread used for battery clamp was way to long on bottom/hook end and on top. Not enough room to get deep socket on top to loosen nut and because hook was so long a whole lot of short turns required. Turn, remove wrench, reposition, turn, remove over and over. So while I had it apart I cut about one inch off both ends. Now I can get a deep socket on the top and not nearly as many turns are required to free up hook on bottom. The next battery change will be a whole lot easier.

Just make sure you dont get over enthused and 'trap' your ratchet wrench... I had to cut my 19mm when doing struts..

Agree but I am already tool poor. Without making althread shorter it still would be a timeconsuming knuckle busting project.

I can not tell you how many times I have modified the length of a bolt.

(Thank God for Dremel)

Just remember in discussions: Wrench, what you use to turn or hold the head of a bolt.

Wench: what you use to turn the head of a dolt.

And sorry about the liquid on your monitor.
