Cap on Roof
There is a cap on my roof that I have no idea what it's for. It's plugged, but the Poly is decomposing. It's above the kitchen, right next to the 14" roof vent. Does anybody have a pic or idea what it's for?

If it is toward the center of the roof and about 4" in diameter, it is a rafter vent. If it is toward the side wall and 1 1/2 to 2" in diameter, it is probably the gray tank vent.
Neither one should be plugged. But they usually vent from underneath.

Yep it used to be a vent that the previous owner decided to cap off..goes to show that when buying an rv & doing the inspection you got to get on the roof too.

If it is the rafter vent it is called a mushroom vent. If it is, they base of the vent is screwed down to the roof. Clean of the sealant, remove the screws, clean off the sealant below the old flange, apply new sealant, new vent and cover screws with sealant, dicor, eternabond, etc..
They can be purchased at Amazon.
Make sure it is not your gray or black tank vents. They are different.

I just noticed this is a motorhome. I have not seen the mushroom vent on a motorhome before, so I would seek out someone with the same coach and make sure what it vents.

That cap is a cap for a satellite cable system. I have a 2005 Daybreak. My cap is located right there also. Mine is visible, stating to remove this cap when installing a satellite dish system. I would be certain that is the same for your 2006 model. There is a cable that leads to the front driver side upper cabinet. Hope this helps.

Thanks. That makes sense, as mine had a satellite system that was removed by the PO.

After going back on the roof, I've found out that the 'cap' in question has nothing to do with the satellite cable. The red circled items are the satellite cable entry to the roof and the very similar off air TV antenna cable entry. The blue circled items are the old satellite cable stays on the roof. So, I'm still trying to figure out what the original round 'cap' is for. Anyone?

What is directly under that round thing in the mh? Is there a wall? Micro wave? Sink? Any way to see what it might have been there for? Are there any round vents behind the rear ac unit? How is the refridge vented?

I thought you were talking about the round cap behind your forward A/C unit. That brown looking cap is were the factory cable is located for the satellite system on my unit. I did not use the factory cable myself. I ran my own cable like your previous owner. I would still bet this is the factory (Damon) cable, if you are still talking about the cap behind the A/C Unit. I will see if I can find a picture.

It's the ceiling in the MH. There isn't anything there.
The thing I've circled in red is what I'm talking about. The original satellite cable came thru the roof from the front cap. I'm hoping someone with a 2006 or 7 Daybreak will chime in, cause I don't want to remove the cap to see what it is, unless I have to. The fridge has a standard large rectangular vent on top, behind where I'm standing.
