Have a ford f53 20500 gvwr chassis with 19.5 wheels. 22 inch wheels perform so much better at higher gvwr's. Any thoughts on upgrading to larger wheel tire combinations? Ignore the cost factor. I wondering about fit and performance.

Be sure to consider rear diff gearing when changing overall tire diameter.

Also brakes. With 22.5 tires the big change in effective radius requires a bigger brake booster to get reasonable pedal effort.

The First thing you need to do is find out the bolt pattern the offset and hub size of your 19.5 rim and that of the 22.5 to confirm fit, the wheels have to ride on the hub and not the studs, the offset because you don't want them sucked in to far in or sticking to far out of the body. As far as the brakes check with a Ford dealer that handles larger than 1 ton trucks they can tell you if they used larger rotors or callipers on the newer F53's.
