Confused, BD1, Intellitec and generator

Okay, so have a 2000 Damon Intruder with 19000 miles on it just purchased. What's weird is the battery disconnect switch was working just fine until recently. Now when I turn the generator on and run it for a while and then turn the generator off, I can't use the battery bank to run lights, everything just shuts off. No mater what I press on the BD1 switch, nothing turns on EXCEPT the radio. When I press the USE button, I can hear a clicking but nothing happens. Also, on the converter in the back, the wizard light is not on...isn't that light supposed to be on even when the generator is not doing anything? I have checked all fuses and all are good...NOW here's the fun part...after a couple days the switch will start working again or at least it did a couple days ago and I can use the batteries to power everything. So what gives? capacitor, switch, convertor, something else?
