Connecting Dish TV

Apologies in advance if this is long; it's a sign of the level of my lack of knowledge and confusion!

I've had a new-to-me 2006 Damon Daybreak 3276 for 6 months and love it! I'd now like to get Dish tv for it and I'm totally befuddled. I've never had anything other than cable tv. I know, in addition to paying the DISH people, I need a receiver and a satellite dish. What I don't know is how it all gets hooked up!

In the cabinet above the driver's seat I see 2 cords, one marked "Sat In" and the other "Sat Out" - I'm thinking this is where the receiver goes. In the cabinet above the passenger seat there is a Winegard VS 0604/6412 Amplified Video Distribution Center that seems to have everything connected to it! I replaced the original tv in the bedroom with a digital one and connected a conversion box to the original behemoth analog tv. Both current tv's work well on the antenna and will even play different channels at the same time.

My question is: where is the satellite dish connected? Is it enough to connect it to the receiver and then all the cords that go into the Winegard will do their magic (after, of course, I push the appropriate "Sat" buttons on it)?

I fear this is a clear as mud but if anyone has any suggestions (or suggestions about where I can educate myself about this) then I'd appreciate it!

TIA,
Pam

Satellite tv hookup

Hi,
When you buy your satellite dish and dish receiver there will be plenty of good instructions as to setting it up and connecting it there. The instructions are usually good, at least the ones I have received from the dish network projects. The satellite in feed coax cable will connec to the satellite in port on your switch box you mentioned you have. A short coax cable is then run from the back of the switch box to the satellite in connection on the back of the receiver. The receiver out on the back of the receiver will go to your tv's. Of course you have to push the SAT button on the switch box to complete the connection. I have a DVR receiver, so I ran two cables from the satellite dish to the satellite receiver, and two out to the TV's. It would help if you posted the satellite dish type and model you have and the receiver you are using to insure you get better and more complete answers.
Hope this helps you,
Alan
