Damon Astoria 2006

Does anyone own one of these 2006 Damon Astoria who could tell me where the converter is located. I have a RV 750 UL HW inverter-charger which I have located. I like my Damon Astoria but it's frustrating having to get information thru Thor . Would apprecate any help and thanks ahead of time.

Astoria 'converter' location

We purchased our 2006 Damon Astoria in 2013. I also was puzzled by the converter reference in addition to the inverter reference in the owner manual and like you had no problem locating the Magnum inverter/battery charger. This morning I removed the Magnum to have it serviced.

As I was removing the Magnum I was surprised to see a green light in the blackness behind the Magnum. Using a flashlight I discovered t here is an Inteli Power 9100 Model PD9180 Power Converter (also known as a battery charger) hidden in the darkness. It’s plugged into a 110 Volt outlet on the ceiling of the compartment. The 12 volt wiring goes into a wiring harness. Other than the green light I haven’t had a chance to confirm it’s actually putting out 12 volt power or what it supplies.

I also would appreciate hearing from someone who is familiar with this second battery charging system on the Astoria.

The "Power Converter" hidden behind the Inverter is connected to the house batteries and is the actual batter charger for the house batteries. The Inverter does have a battery charger option, but it is intended to function only as an inverter.

Contrary to how our Astoria Owner Manual reads, the Inverter only powers three 110 volt outlets located in 1. driver side overhead entertainment center, 2. next to passenger side seat, 3. bedroom TV.
