Hi all,
I'm seriously contemplating purchasing an Outlaw. But I wanted to hear from the folks who have purchased one as to what they liked/disliked about it. What are the pros/cons for this particular model. What mods have you done or want to do?
I'm looking at the 3612 Scorpion package (with the murphy bed in the back). I will not be using the garage as an garage, but as a master bedroom at night and an office during the day.
My wife and I are considering full-timing in it with our 4 kids (3 boys and a girl, ages 6-11) and would like to avoid the girl sleeping with the boys, and avoid having to make a sofa bed or dinette every night and morning. I also need an office where I can hold teleconferences snd work at my computer with minimal disruptions.
I can't find any RV (let alone in my price range) that meets my particular needs, but the Outlaw comes close.
As such.... mods I'm considering:
1) Adding a drop down table to the murphy bed so when its closed, I can use it as a desk.
2) adding a cabinet with convertible table where window is next to front door
3) adding long drop leaf to kitchen counter.
4) adding instant hot water heater
5) making the loft bed into two twin beds with seaparting curtains. I MIGHT be able to put three bunks up here, need to measure.
6) Moving the wardrobe to the garage.
7) putting 2 bunks where the wardrobe and stairs are (depends on whether I have the space from the wall to the fridge - I'm not sure yet, but I think so). I think I can make these fold up and have a small desk fold down so the kids can use this as workspace for their schoolwork.
8) possibly adding a second fridge in the garage.
9) possibly adding a washer/dryer
10) possibly adding a 1/2 bath in the garage.
thoughts/ideas/gotcha's?
Thanks,
Walter

Check out Holman Motors. They beat any price we could find. They have an Outlaw in inventory. Very smooth out of state purchase for us...well worth the trip down from MI.

Thanks, I definitely will!
How long have you had yours? What do you like about it? What don't you like? Any problems?
Thanks again,
Walter

Check out General RV in Wixom Michigan ask for Mike Dominco Ph# is 248-349-0900 I don't know the ext. They have one on ebay with a buy it now price of $82900.00. We looked at these things for 2 1/2 years and decided to buy one now for several reasons ( I won't go into in your post but will in one of my own later) We did the whole deal on the phone and through the overnight post. They are great to deal with and super people in person!!
They met me at the airport with a tuxedoed driver and had 4 people waiting for me when we arrived at the dealership. 1 the salesman Mike 2 the Finance manager 3 & 4 2 mechanics that took me through the coach and answered any and all questions, most before I could ask them! For mods, we went to IKEA mainly because the Europeans have been living in smaller spaces than us extravagant Americans. In just walking thru the store we found amazing and very inventive space savers. I plan on posting our mods later as we get thru the process of down sizing from our 42' 5er into this marvelous coach. We wanted the 3612 but needed to take a washer & dryer along with a dishwasher with us, OH also 2 motorcycles. Oh and Deb just reminded me about the extra 'frig that travels with us. All said and done we are very happy with the new coach, and especially with the IKEA mods.
