Damon Ultrasport

Hi All,

I'm having a heck of a time figuring out how to navigate thru this web site. I'm a newbie (obviously) and would like anyones input on a 1998 and a 2000 Damon Ultrasport 38' pusher. I'm wanting to purchase, but can find no reviews on this particular unit. Good, Bad, middle of the road, low end, top end.
Please help, and excuse my ignorance.

Thanks to all
Pat

To understand Damon, know the history...

It was a long lived maker of entry to mid price point RV's. The slogan was Value by Design.

These RV's are everywhere and are still on the road because they were well made and used good quality and commonly used systems with few custom parts (makes repairs very easy from companies like Atwood, HWH, and Lippert).

Thor Motor Coach acquired Damon along with Four Winds and Mandalay Luxury Coach in 2000-2001...merging these brands into Thor Motor Coach in 2010.

The UltraSport was a good seller for Damon, but was replaced over the years. Check NADA for proper pricing and like any used RV, give it a very thorough inspection to avoid surprises. Anything that is not working can be used for negotiation, because most everything can be repaired with parts from the part supplier.

We love our Damon!

Best luck

I picked up a 2001 Ultrasport last July with about 63,000 on it. Cummings isb 5.9/ 275 hp, sitting on the freightliner chassis. I Immediately went on a 7 state 3800 mile trip. Got back to find the cap on air compressor was leaking oil, $130 fix. I was gone 31 days just me & my dog and it was great! Like living in a 1 bedroom apt. As long as you keep up on the maintenance and come out here when you have problems, I don't see why you wouldn't be happy. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to have it inspected before you buy.
