Ford or Chevy - Damon Frontier Flyer

I have a 1995 (built in 1994) Damon Frontier Flyer. The only information I have on it is what the previous owner told me. He claims it has a Chevy 454. It is 27 feet long, manufacturer plate inside says built by Ford, 17,000 GVWr. Would they really put a Chevy on a Ford Chassis?

I want to replace the front air bags located inside the coil springs. From Internet searches, it doesn't appear that Ford has this configuration, since it usually refers to the Chevy P30 Chassis. When replacing the air bags, is the best way to raise the front using bottle jacks and then jack stands. It has a manual scissor jack on the front, but I assume this is for stabilizing the front, not for raising it.

Thanks.
New owner.

I am with you, I thought the Ford chassis had front leaf springs not coils. It is weird that you have a mufacturers plate that states Ford. Anyway, if it is a Ford then it is a 460 V8 engine at 17K GVWR. Interesting......

I think I found the answer. The document that Damon posted behind the driver's seat is incorrect, listing Ford as the manufacturer. I found a decoder for the VIN number which starts as 1G... which is clearly GM. It appears the GVWR is also wrong. Will have to do some more digging to get correct information.
