OK, so maybe I jumped the gun

After going in the RV two weeks ago installing my big ass TV and seeing the sun sitting higher in the sky lately, the wife and I spent the day yesterday doing all sorts of stuff in preparation for our first weekend out coming up in just 6 short weeks.

One of the things I did was to flush and sanitize the water system. THEN I looked at the upcoming weather and although the daily temps will be in the 40's and 50's, the overnight's will be dropping in to the 20's

Should I worry about this enough to pull the water out again? My thinking it that it would need to drop into the freezing range for at lease 24 hours in order to freeze solid and pop a pipe.

Am I correct or should I get busy blowing my lines back out?

We live in North Carolina and have never winterized. Lucky I quess.
We put two electric heaters in the MH and seems to work. If it is only going to drop below freezing for a short time I would think that should do. If heaters are an option. Hopefully someone else can be more helpful. Good Luck....D

Keep the rig heated and you should not have a problem - like your stick house it takes a while for cold weather to have an impact and opening up cabinet doors to provide heat to water pipes will help.

It would take a few days 24 hours a day of temps in the 20's, In the old day when they used copper, it was much more sensitive to the nightly lows.

I never thought about the copper pipes. So far I've been lucky in that the overnight lows haven't been below freezing for more than a few hours at a time. Spring is in the air so I've stopped worrying.

Just spent all day yesterday replacing the water line couplings in the kitchen slideout bay on our Damon. I am sure they froze during our mid to low twenty temperatures a few weeks ago. I would like to chastize Damon for the plastic fittings but will keep it clean and hope I now have most all replaced. I am sure there are still some more replacements down the road but eventually will have them all changed to copper.

Is the RV plugged into shore power? If it is, a drop light with a 75 watt bulb in the wet bay kept us safe when it dropped to 19 and 15 degrees overnight.

If you are getting temps at night around 20 degrees, what about the outside shower? We are leaving for Florida next week and I need to dewinterize/sanitize the fw system. Temps will be in the mid 30s during the day but around 20 at night. I can run the heat and open all the cabinet doors but what can I do for the outside shower?

It's my understanding that it has to drop below freezing and stay there for quite a long period of time which is more than an overnight dip. I would suggest that you pull your shower handle off as I've gone through two of these in the winters so far without any other components failing.
