I am looking for the fuse that controls power to the large defroster fans. I have located 3 fuse boxes which were mentioned in another post, but can't find anything in a book which says which fuse is for the fans. Thanks, John H.

bmanSC, Thanks for the response. I have checked every fuse possible that is in a fuse block. There may be one in-line fuse somewhere, but would have to take the panel apart to trace wire. I did take a hot wire and touch to the fan switch and they both work low and high speed. I e-mailed Damon and was just told to check two fuse blocks. Thought they could tell me specifically which fuse or if it may be an in-line fuse somewhere. I thought about running seperate power to it. John H....

check yhe fuses real good because the fuse that went to my foglights was in wrong (not in strait)and thats why my fog lights didn't work.so check them real good.i know tat that didn't have any thing to do with the fan's but that's what a fuse can do.did they work when you got the daybreak?

Yes, I have checked them about 3 or 4 times and I did go over them pretty good. Sure would be a lot eaisier if I knew exactly which fuse it were. I just bought the MH about a month ago and I'm going all over it, tweaking and fixing things the way I want them. Taking a trip to GA, the end of the month. The fans did not work when I got it.

I believe there is only three places it could be. Battery control center fuse block, front chassis fuse and relay box(both of these are under the hood) or the fuse block on the left of the steering column.

Thanks Sam, There is also the one under the foot of the bed where the 110 breakers are. I have checked all these fuses, but no luck. John H

Take the fan down from the ceiling and check to see if there is an inline fuse holder in the wires going to the fan. These fans are designed to be installed aftermarket in an already built vehicle and come with inline fuses in the power lead. Maybe the coach builder just wired them direct to 12V as the fuses were already in line.

As far as the fans seizing up, mine were making a terrible racket and I spayed "Fluid Film" lubricant into the bearings at both ends of the shaft. Two years later they are still quiet and working well. Fluid Film is good stuff, not solvent based and leaves a film of lubricant that seems to last a long time.

Matt, I took down the fans and checked, and no fuse. I did touch a hot wire to the switch earlier and had both fans running at low and high speed, so if there had been an in-line fuse it would have been OK. I did find some slices in two wires and respliced them and checked all the fuses under the hood again.John H....

Those fans only work when the ignition switch is on, you knew that, right? It has to be one of the front fuses.

Sorry I can't help you but I would be curious to know too. It seems these thing are like homemade and even Damon has no idea what fuse the installer might have hooked it up to. I've been thinking about rewiring mine so they don't go thru the ignition switch. Maybe you should do that.

If I can't eventually find the fuse I will probably run a seperate in-line fused wire directly to the switch, but for now it is just one of those things that bothers me, not knowing. There is a fused yellow wire coming from the upper solenoid under the hood which has been cut. It is about 4" long. Not sure where it ever was meant to go. John H.
