Hello all, I'm Justin and my family and I are the proud owners of our first motorhome. We got a 1995 Damon Intruder 34' yesterday and now I'm trying to educate myself on the nuances of this fine coach.

It has 93000 miles on it, which seemed high but I'm pretty good woth a wrench so I'm not too worried about it. made the 5 hour trip home with no issue, but does surge a little at idle now. I think (know) it has a vacuum leak somewhere because I can see a vacuum line with a screw in it hanging. It also still has the factory plugs and wires so I know I have some tune up work to do.

Anything specific I should be doing or looking out for?

Congrats Justin and welcome to the Damon forum. What engine does it have? Plugs and wires would be a good start. John H....

It has the Ford 460 in it. I was a little leery of the engine because historically I have been a Chevy Guy but we really liked the coach so I took a chance. Hope it works out! The monitor panel is not functional and he told me that he replaced it with a new board and it burned out too. Any theories?

The Ford 460 was a good engine. As far as the panel, it's hard to hazard a guess, but sounds like an over load on the circuit board or something because of a faulty fuse. Can only start checking things, one problem at a time. John H....

Hey Justin, congratulations! You'll find lots of help on this board and RV Net Forum.
How many will there be traveling with you?
My husband and I started rather late with "camping" so my kids are grown up now, ime I regret now that we didn't start when they were alot younger!
Have a great time traveling!
