Those of you who have a drivers side door may find this interesting. Slowly, so slowly that I didn't notice it coming, my door has been rattling. Finally it got to a point where I had to do something. I removed the door panel to find another sheet metal panel behind it. I removed that one and came to a sheet of plastic. Pulled that off and I could finally see into the door. I banged on the outer panel and heard a few vibrations. I saw a steel reinforcing bar on the right. It was resting up against the outer panel. I pushed the outer panel away and squirted a bead of silicone between the bar and the panel. That rattle was gone....Now I noticed that the outer panel itself was loose. I saw it was held in place with a felt channel that was pushed between it and the frame of the door. Most of it was loose. I pulled it out, little by little, laying a small bead of silicone behind it before pushing it back in. I was confident that it would not come out again. Banging on the door showed no rattles. A few hours later, I put it all back together and went for a fuel run. What a difference! I am so happy! All in all, it took a couple of hours.

Heard on the radio yesterday that diesel fuel is $4.60 a gallon in CA. Not sure I'd want a DP. John H....

In my dream world, diesel is $1.50 
DW and I just drove down to Normandy Farms in Foxboro Mass. 80 miles of rattle free bliss. Should have done this a long time ago..

Another rattle that annoyed me was the covered tray on the passenger side of my intruder.. I found a nice strong steel bar an inch or two under it.. Took a "Fun Noodle" (also called Swim Noodles) and cut it to length This is a poly-foam pipe. I slit it lengthwise and slipped it over the pipe with the slit at the bottom.
No rattle no more, (NOTE I choose a noodle that was slightly thicker than the gap so there is positive pressure there)
As for how it looks.. Can't see it, completly under the dash, In fact as I recall I worked blind putting the thing in place
