I'm very disappointed in my '11 Damon Astoria's performance in the heat.
So, today I'm having the 13,500 BTU Coleman ACs replaced with the Dometic 15,000 BTU High Capacity ACs. I hope that this will provide enough capacity to overcome the heat gain on hot Texas days.

Hey Bear
All my AC an R buddies tell me 20 degrees is about the best you can do...so 100 outside = 80 degrees inside...I put 4 inch foam in all my skylight/vents and the big one over the shower...that helped...but sounds like you were parked in an oven! 1500 BRUs want hurt!

Are we big enough to have a sub-group "Astoria" under Damon?

I would like to see that. I have a 2011 Damon Astoria which is the last half year of production of the 'old ' body style. There isn't much dialogue that is relevant to this mark so you have a good idea.

Leezm3,
I don't know how many we need. Maybe a moderator could chime into the conversation. I would think the new Tuscany as well as older Essences would both fit into the space.

I think if we split between old style and new style we'll we doing ourselves an injustice. All Damon/Thor DP's should be welcome. The new style is just the old style with a nicer front cap. I have the old goofy twin headlight set up. The new style is real cool but not enough to trade an old 2011 for a newer one. Not unless the Power Ball is kind to me.

Hi Jim
My 2011 Astoria was built in May 2010 but by some quirk of Indiana title registration it was titled as a 2011. Yours would be a later model

Sounds right...they call ours a 2011.5 on the build sheet...

Interesting. We were "born" Apr 2010 and are titled as 2010. Oh, what a difference a month makes.
On the Astoria Tuscany thoughts, I think the differrences between Damon manufacturing and Thor are such that Damon Astoria owners may desire the tech sharing and comraderie of their specific models. Much along the same thought patterns of having a Damon forum within the Thor header.
Just thoughts.

Well...it took 4 weeks and 76 hours of labor...but we now have a new roof. I can not say enough about CW in Statesville...they also completed a lengthy punch list of things as well...feels good to have Tessie back!

AC update: it's has not been as hot as the one frightful Saturday we have 100+ degree days and the 15k BTU units are keeping Thor cool. Hopefully we will no have to a third AC. Anybody need a perfectly good 13.5k btu heat pump by Coleman? I will deal!
