Your inverter/converter should maintain your batteries.
It’s possible the charging function of your inverter or converter has gone bad.
You can test it by leaving your shore power plugged in and measure the voltage across your battery pack. It should be 13v plus. Mine stays about 13.6. When it’s really charging, I see 14.2+.

I’ve had my converter go bad and had to replace it.
ok, Checked the batteries with shore power on and they are at 13.28. Gauge inside coach for Inverter shows 13.3. When I fire it up it jumps to about 14.2.

Lightbulb RV dining table light issue

I have a 2012 Thor Astoria 36MQ. This is our third year with the vehicle and I have no major complaints. That said, my dining table light had a bulb burn out and I could not figure out how to change the bulb. it doesn't seem to want to unscrew. Push and turn doesn't work, and pulling on the bulb doesn't release it. Yesterday the second bulb let go.

I know I can replace the light easily enough. I have already removed it from the ceiling to see if I could get a better look at the bulbs. But, I really like the light and would rather just replace the bulbs. At this point I think I'm going to break a bulb and cut myself if I mess with them not knowing the correct method.

A picture of the light is attached. If anyone has this type of light and knows the trick I'd really appreciate you sharing it. The light is upside down in the picture. Close up of the bulb in the second pic.

looking at the base i would say its a bayonet style base with two nubs sticking out that woud come out by pushing in on the bulb
then turning one way or the other probably counter clockwise and you can surely get led replacements for it to save energy and heat good luck

I agree that it looks like it should be a push to turn bayonet style bulb. Be very careful though! I was trying to remove one that was so tight it broke and sliced my finger open. Several stitches and a severed nerve have left me with numbness in the tip of my finger after many years. Try to find something that's thick enough to protect you if the bulb breaks, but also grippy enough to provide a hold on the bulb while turning it. A flat strip of rubber like a sweep on the bottom of a door might suffice.

Hi TPO Astoria
I also have a 2012 Thor Astoria 36MQ (Belle). I had all the lights replaced with LEDs. Very happy with this.
I love Belle, but I have had a plethora of maintenance issues. I've found the owners manual extremely unhelpful, and have resorted many times to Dr Google. I will help you with any quirks that I have encountered. Safe travels!

Thanks all. I was messing with the light and broke one bulb. My wife then tells me that she never liked that light anyway. She found one she liked much better on Amazon so I replaced the old light with that one. Super bright for an LED light. I need to install a dimmer for it.

Just realized my response never posted. :(.

I’d say everything looks to be working good. Keep the batteries clean and filled properly and they will last many years. 👍😁

Hope everyone has been having a great holiday season.

We, too, have an Astoria and are new to the forum. I do wonder about the hide a bed. With the slide out extended there is not enough room to open the bed. The dining nook is preventing full extension. Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum!

What's your year and model# Astoria? That is indeed strange. I'd like to look up your floorplan to see what's up with that.

I have a 2012 Thor 36MQ on a Freightliner chassis that I purchased new. I never had a need ,until today to access the engine from the top. I removed the cover in the bedroom floor that is a piece of 3/4" square plywood with carpet attached to it. Thinking I would see the top of the engine. Nope, there is a cover that is made of some very hard material that is keeping me from getting to the engine. What should be under the plywood? Anyone know how to remove it? Any ideas?
Thanks

Not sure this will help but here is a pic of a Damon Astoria with the engine hatch removed. It is L shaped.

Thank you for your response. It appears to me that the hatch is just sitting on top of very hard flooring, maybe some type of fireproof material. Looks like it is going to have to be cut out some way. I am going to call Thor today and see if they can help.
