New to Damon Tuscany
We just took delivery on our new/used 2008 Tuscany 4055. We didn't plan on moving up just yet but while we were in for warranty work on our Itasca Sunstar we saw this unit. The floor plan and amenities were just what we were considering in our next home. Anyone out there have experience with this particular model. Gave it a good shakedown prior to taking final delivery but am wondering if there are things that I didn't think of that we should be aware of. We are looking forward to meeting fellow Tuscany owners at the rally in September and learning more.

I have an 08 Tuscany 4076, new in 09 now with 56,000 miles.
There are a number of items to evaluate. First off who did the regular
maintenance as stipulated by Freightliner and Cummins, and do you
have proof. You will then have to establish a base line of service on the
fuel filters, oil and filter, air filter, grease, air dryer maintenance, coolant,
fan belt, differential fluid, "S" cam lubrication in brake system, and
drive line condition of universal joint. Then you are likely looking at
all new batteries (you should get AGM's as they are the best), and new
tires, as yours are aged out by now. Be sure that the Norcold 1200 is
working and has had the safety modification. You also will likely have
some failures of caulking on the roof at all the fixtures, as have I.
These are the big items that pop into my mind right away.
See you in Myrtle Beach...

I see you are pulling a RAV4. Did you have it modified for flat towing?

Any docs you have related to a 2005 Tuscany 4075 would be appreciated. Particularly interested in BCC schematics and plumbing diagrams. Also the RG 59 video cable to the rear TV is open circuit. So a route for that would be very useful. Thanks, AJW

We have a 2011 4051 and love it, in fact leaving tomorrow to take in the first college football game of the season. As everyone has already stated pretty much sums it up, just get on top of the maintenace regardless of what they "SAY" has been done.
I have had to replace a few items on ours so far.. Alternator, Invertor, waiting on new step motor to show up.. and I am pretty sure that my leveling system will be next. It it starting to leak pressure down past the motor seals.
Nothing I would consider out of the ordinaring considering our usage, and I do all the work myself, so it doesn't hurt so bad.. lol
Enjoy,

heheheheheee
it runs from the top of the slide inside
pull the little bumps off the slide cover and unscrew the fascia
then you will see the rg 6 cable to the back of the tv, there at least 3 unions that will have the push on fittings, they work loose and short out.
then behind the passenger water tank door, behind the plastic panel you will find the rest of the wires for the cable. it all runs back up front to the wineguard unit in the overhead.
check the push on ends at the cable terminis, all of mine have been found shorted, i replaced them with swedged on fittings

You nailed it. Three of four push on or lightly crimped units pulled right off. They didn't even bother to push the dielectric up into the fitting at all. Very sloppy work. Thanks for your help. One wonders if that is Damon quality or aftermarket. I will find out tomorrow if everything is working but I expect it will. AJW
