Placement of Air Horns

Thinking of adding air horns to my Outlaw and placing them behind the grill in front of the engine instead of on the roof. Has anyone done this; any problems?

I have done that to two rigs. My F-I-L had installed a set on the outside for show. These worked for years and finally gave up the ghost. So instead of making more holes on the outside of his rig, I placed the new ones under the hood and connected them to the button he used to activate the old air horns. I then installed them on my old rig. Both installs behind the grill.

I have encountered no problems what so ever. Behind the grill makes it the simplest way to go. I also pointed them down so they wouldn't have a problem with rain water.

I haven't done it so far to the new one, seems the factory horn from Ford are loud enough.

Go for inside and not drill holes in the roof.

My 2008 Winnebago Vectra came from the factory that way. Less holes and cleaner looking.

That's the way my Meridian came, too.
