This started over a year ago....Small hard bumps resembling sand grains under the wallpaper started appearing below the passenger side window. Maybe one to 3 a month until I investigated. I tried smashing them with a walpaper seam roller but they were too hard to eliminate completely. Someone on another forum suggested a moisture problem so I pulled both side mirrors and found no sealant, only the rubber gasket, so I put some good caulk around the holes and re-installed them. Still the bumps continued appearing now on both sides. The side windows had factory caulk installed around the top and sides of the frame but not the bottom. (lazy or cheap) I pulled both side windows and found the rubber gasket curled over and pinched on the front side of the window about 3" up. I re-installed them with some butyl putty tape then caulked over it around the perimeter. I also lined the inside raw edge of the window cutout with aluminum duct seam tape to keep any more leaks at bay. No problems since and no other signs of damage like warping or delam.
I'm assuming by the location of the pinched gasket, they only leaked while on the road in the rain and air pressure was pushing a little water in each time.
Now I have 40 or so bumps to take care of...not real noticable but I know they're there. I can cut them off easily with a razor blade but it would create spots on the wall covering. Anybody have any suggestions to make it look better? Anybody else have these symptoms?
