Hi, My steps on my 1998 daybreak work when the door opens or closes,is there a switch to turn them off, i looked on the dash but it is not there.there is a battery disconnect switch near the door, is that it?Thanks and happy camping

If you try one of those switches near the inside of the stair well one of them should turn the steps off to lock either open or retracted. Try them to se which one may control the steps.

On my intruder there are six switches in the stair well, one group of 4 and the other two are the battery monitor/disconnect, I'll ignore those

The 4 are, counting from the door
1: interior lights
2: Compartment lights
3: Porch Light (Also the handle and the work light on the driver's side)
4: Step Override (locks the steps in the OUT position)

NOTE: Some MH the step switch is a POWER (locks in EITHER position unless ignition on)

NOTE: Ignition is supposed to override the switch, sometimes, it does
