Shade/Awning
Will that awning keep out the Quartzsite Sun? Only one way to find out.

Hey Drifter...here is a view looking through one of the awnings:
...and we have confirmed that it makes a BIG difference with the heat coming through the windows!

Keeping Hot Sun Out...
We have always used the SILVER INSULATED Vinyl PANELS that we cut from a 25 ft roll of Rolled Silver Insulation bought at Home Depot.....43.25 and has handled all windows on our 2006 Damon including the Front Windshield with much left over for tow car or other home uses. All are Tucked behind Shades or in Ceiling Vents as needed, based on Sun location side of Rv. But is also best for keeping in Heat during Winter. Then rolled up and stored in Shower til next stop or in Cargo Bays.

Drifter, I don't believe she answered your question! Sounded like a dodge, to me. But there is still over 3 months until QZ. Priorities can change in that time.
It would be great to see R & B in QZ.

Harry & Mike...We are working on the logistics of the trip...ie. ...a sitter for the MIL is the big one... and my time off from work is another-which is the easier of the two!
I will keep the QZ crowd updated as I make any progress on the two issues!
(Who knows...maybe we will bring the full size awning with us to have you put it on! )

We can go from adjusting doors to installing awnings, err, one awning.

What's under the step? My step seems to be a big metal box. Have yet to try to pull up the treads.

Lots of Damon motorhomes have the house batteries under the entry steps.
Some were engineered with enough space to remove/install the fat 6volt cells up through the hinged step tread. But some, like ours only have enough space to do light maint. These require R&R down under the steps.
Safe travels
