Yes Steve- It is a ducted unit.

The AC unit was close to a "plug and play" unit to a certain extent.

We did UPGRADE to the A/C unit with a "heat-pump" built in. This will allow us to help heat the RV without using the propane heat.

Here is a photo of the top of the unit without the shroud on it....

Do you need a thermostat or 2?

I have posted a parts breakdown of what we used to replace the AC units on my blog.
We did replace the perfectly good working thermostats because they would not control the heatpump side. Here is the old thermostat -

Here is the new thermostat...

You can see more parts here.

I also replaced the front Carrier unit on our Intruder with a Coleman Mach 15. I used the conversion kit to retain the capability of the Carrier remote. Works great! As a side note, the new thermostat picture you posted looks exactly the same as the one in our house which controls our HVAC. Just different logo on it.

bamaguy...I looked at the Mach15...it does not have the heat-pump feature that our new AC does. That was something that SacsTC and I wanted in the new unit. Your CFM is 320 and ours is 300 CFM. We were lucky enough that we were replacing the same brand so we did not have to worry about a conversion kit.
I can honestly say that the units seemed to work vewry well during or most recent heat wave last week!

Window Coverings

Woo-Hoo! We ordered some window coverings this afternoon!

We purchased some 3/8" double cell cellular blinds to go over most of the windows. These will be black-out blinds that the combination of double cell and black-out will cut down on the heat in the RV.

We also ordered a set of "Day/Night shades" for the side slide windows from the gang at NorthWest RV Supply in Eugene, Oregon.
I have used them for many items that worked for our past Monaco...but I thought of them for some of the window coverings. I called them today and the two blinds have been shipped!!

Thank You NWRV Supply!

Slide Window Coverings

My DH never gets to rest in the afternoons when I am home and I get a "present" for our "Diamond in the Rough"!
Yesterday he was out getting things for one of his own projects when I received a package from NorthWest RV Supply.

When he came home he found that I had removed the old blinds and valances from the slide-out side windows. He can see that I am just as proud of myself as a cat is bringing home his dead mouse for his parent.
We are sitting there as content as can be for about 20 minutes- and then the sun hits that side window.
He now has to get his screw gun and mount the blind on the valance header that we will use for the new valance so that we can cut down on the heat pouring through the single pane window.

I will take another photo once we have the valances built and are installed.

More photos here.

...Still Kickin'...

Yes...I am still around but my extra time has been limited over the last several months.
We have done a few more projects and I thought I would share probably the one that I may like best!

The Diamond is older than many rigs out there - and the radio is of the same generation...

It was time the Diamond upgraded her "On the Road Again" audio. This is what Santa dropped off!

Thanks Steve...it's nice to be back.

Speaking of "neat projects" - here is another nice touch to the dash-

We have never used the cigarette lighter in any of our vehicles so we have made better use of it with this USB outlet.

You can find more pics here.

More Pioneer Radio Features

There are a few more features to this radio addition...

It comes with a remote control...

...and it also has a "hands free" speaker that we have installed for phone calls!

You can find more pics here.

I had the same one installed in my Daybreak. That and the LCD tv made the biggest difference.
