Battery Tray
Today was spent working on the battery tray project.
Here is a photo of the old two-battery tray and the new four-battery tray sitting in front of it.
You can find more photos on my blog.

Verry cool. Did you two fabricate that setup yourselves or was it something you found ready-made?

Battery Expansion Completed
We completed the battery expansion today. I will admit that I was a bit out of my comfort level - as I always am when it comes to anything electrical.
Here it is midway through wiring.
(You will find more photos on the blog.)

Pat- this was a collaboration with a welder acquaintance. He has been trying to get this done since the beginning of last month but his work schedule is about as bad as mine. He finally gave me what he had come up with so far but he wasn't sure how it was going to tie together. DH took it from there.
We will make it work like this for now and probably have him add some U brackets to strengthen it once we all have free time.

These are the 6V GC-2 batteries that Costco carries. I think we paid just under $90 each for them.
We won't be using the coach as much as I would like because I am still working full time. These seemed to be the best buy out there.

Kudos on selecting the Costco batteries...did you know that the return policy is 100% replacement during the warrantee period - that's right - not pro-rated!!
Just before Christmas, I returned a 3 year old Costco Battery - thought I would pay about 1/2 price for a new one...NOPE, IT WAS FREE!
Safe travels

Electrical Cord Reel
We have a list of things that need to be done to finish off some of the many projects that we have been doing.
One of those things was to bolt down the Electrical cord reel-

That one is now done!
Some of the other things are listed on the blog.

Furniture is Secured
All of the front area furnishing have now been secured-including the dining room table, the sofa and the Entertainment Center.

I am getting excited at the thought of taking the Diamond out on the road for our first trip!

where did you get the sofa from? I'm about to order one from Brad and Hall... met them at the Atlanta RV show and they were very helpful.
I'm in the middle of a complete RV interior upgrade after a refrigerator fire. And doing some things on the outside as well.
Here is an incomplete and short list of the remodel.
Reconnect Furnace (Done)
- was going to relocate it to accommodate larger refrigerator, but gave up on difficult issues
Check out front AC/heater problem (Done)
- rats had eaten thru the comm cable. Then fuse on rooftop unit blew and spend a day or two troubleshooting that!
Paint interior walls (Done) - long process, looks good now.
Replace sink faucet
Replace slide cover awnings (Done) - 3 slides
.. discovered the front drivers slide was mis-aligned by 1 1/2" - re-aligned that (Done)
Fix leak behind refrigerator (Done) - wow, difficult to find, easy to fix
Build refrigerator base (Done)
Re-wire for residential refrigerator (Done)
Install residential refrigerator (Done)
Reinstall mid cabinet (Done)
Reinstall pocket door in mid area
Reinstall cabinets in bathrooms
Tear out all ceramic tile.
- working on this now, 80% complete.. removed toilet in front bath and have all ceramic and subfloor out of kitchen area and front bath. Only rear bath remains. - Much thanks to Ernie for advice.
Finish ceiling .. Paint/stain and install
Sand/prep all cabinets for coat of lacquer (have to wait for warmer weather)
Shorten dinette cabinet 9" to accommodate new sofa
Install LVT "wood" floor and new subfloor
Install carpet on drivers slide
Order Sofa and material for drivers seats
Install Sofa
Take Front seats to be re-covered
Order Dye for J Lounger - (Done)
Dye J Lounger and re-install.
Fix Washer Dryer Doors
Replace liner in all cabinets
Do window treatments
Order and install window shades
Install LCD TV's in front and rear of coach
I have tons of photos, but haven't posted any. I'm keeping all receipts, but not looking at cost till complete!

We got our sofa from " shop4seats.com " . It looks good but the quality of workmanship is awful. I would not recommend them.
Why don't you start your own project post in the Monaco or in the MH-General Discussions & Problems forum. It may help other people with ideas or issues they may have.
I am curious - Did they total/salvage your RV? I am surprised they are allowing you to do the work.
Good Luck to you on your project. I know how much work ours is- but it is no where near what you have to do!

I purchased it as a salvage. So, kinda had an idea what I was getting and getting into and got it at a fair price.. for sweat equity investment. I could have just "fixed" what was wrong -- but I wanted to bring it up to new coach standards as best I can. Since it is a salvage title, it will never have the retail value of a non salvage vehicle, but I plan to keep it long term, so that doesn't really matter.
I'm impressed with your documentation on here as well as your blog. I should do as you mention to help others learn from my mistakes. One of the biggest issues has been finding a source of pieces/parts. I have benefited so much from this site. Feel I'm over the hump now on getting this one finished to a point we can begin enjoying it. Oh.. I did forget to mention that I repaired the hole burnt thru the exterior side (farmed that out) - painted to match and you can't tell it ever had damage.
