Which puts them on par with all the manufacturers. And, it's not just the RV industry. Anything you buy today is a crap shoot of how long it will last.
Anything "Made in the USA" today is no more than something made elsewhere in this world and "Assembled in the USA".
Some things can't even be assembled due to lack of certain parts such as computer chips or raw steel because we've relied on foreign manufacturing too long or the plants here have been shut down for environmental reasons.
Meanwhile we have ships sitting outside of ports not allowed to dock and unload because the people on the ship might be carrying the Covid Bug.

So its acceptable because everyone else is the same?
This has nothing to do with parts availability, this has everything to do with products that are supposedly finished and ready for the end user.
Quality issues can not be blamed on anything but not caring about your job or your product.
This was going on well before ccpvirus even was a glimmer in the opinion networks.
When I worked construction years ago, it was heading that way. Quicker faster, more efficient.
Except homeowners had 6 plus page punch lists because of that mentality.

Not surprising with the way RV sales have been skyrocketing through the roof.
A lot of the sales are going to owners who don't have any idea what to look for. As long as it looks new there is not a real concern about the quality of construction.
The RV manufacturers know they can get by with this and would rather sell junk now and fix later. Not really a good business model but it is what it is.

Absolutely in no way did I say or imply any quality control issues are or should be acceptable.

They don't print money, the feds have a monopoly on that, but they and just about every other RV builder sure are counting it rather than developing and implementing a QC/QA action plan to address post production problems that dealers can fix fast enough.
"The fault goes in before the name goes on" is the new motto around Elkhart and other areas.

I'm not sure there is a single manufacture that isn't in the same boat (like Airstream, also a Thor company although they oddly have removed the Thor name from the newer trailers). Between the incredible demand over the last 20 months, parts shortages, labor shortages it's no wonder there is a quality hit.

RV customers remind me of the typical home buyer in my previous life. They would spend weeks to months arguing with the salesperson about price. Then when they talked to me, (construction supervisor), all they talked about was quality and speed to complete.

The RV industry has always been a feast or famine industry and the famine is just around the corner.

A year ago, here, people were predicting drastic drops in sales and tons of used RVs on the market by now. Hasn't happened yet. Will it? Eventually, probably, but who knows when. IMO, THOR appears to be playing it wisely and safely. Using the extra cash to make purchases that make sense and not over-expanding production. They should be okay when that eventual downturn in the industry comes. Unfortunately for me personally, I sold my stock in them in late 2019. Talk about your mistakes! LOL!

That's acquisition of an associated business (vertical integration), not adding production capacity.
