2008 Hurricane, will not start

Good Evening To All,
I have a problem with my 2008 Hurricane. I was visiting my Dad in Oklahoma, when I went to start the RV and nothing, no sound, no power, also not dash power either. I checked the internet and talked to other RVers and was told to jumper the solenoid which I did. I could start the engine, I actually connected the power directly at the battery control panel under the hood. Once I did this, as said the engine started and I made it back to Colorado. I checked all fuses in the battery control box under the hood, all were good. I checked the battery and I had it charged, but still no luck on starting. Since the engine started when I jumpered the auxilary start solenoid, I figure that the starter is working properly. The next step is for me to check the starter solenoid, but it is not near the battery under the hood, can anyone help and point me in the right direction. Today, I placed the fully charged battery in the RV, but again no sound, no clicking and no dash power either. If anyone has any ideas, I am all ears. Thanks for any help.

The 2008 Thor Hurricane was offered on the Ford F53 chassis and the Workhorse chassis. Which is yours? You can find resources on the web to show you wiring diagrams for each chassis. If you use the search box at the top right of the page with the Google logo you can search the iRV2 forum for any posts on your search topic.

Older F53 chassis often had the starter relay mounted inside the doghouse on the driver's side. Not sure if it's still true on a 2008. You could call Ford Corporate Phone #1-800-444-3311 for F53 information.

Bruce, need more detail info concerning exactly what you bypass back in Oklahoma. A completely cold, dark and quiet chassis sounds like the chassis battery disconnect solenoid has either failed or the disconnect switch is set to disconnect and the same solenoid is open.

Also do you know the make and model of the Battery Control Center that is installed? Any chance it looks like this?

Bruce, here is an older thread that goes into detail on one model of the control box. There were 2 different recalls for it.

Maybe I missed something but the OP said

"Since the engine started when I jumpered the auxilary start solenoid, I figure that the starter is working properly."

Not sure what this control box talk is all about.

I would think that the auxiliary solenoid that he jumped is the problem.
