2017 Aria

Has anyone, seen, checked out, or purchased one of the 2017 Aria's. I hope to see one at the Raleigh RV show in February. Interested in any comments.

Saw one of the first ones at the Thor Diesel Club's International Rally this past October in Goshen. They have some good features that the Tuscany models don't even have, at least not yet.

The floor plan is basically the XTE 36MQ but was disappointed to see that they put the hot water heater back in the rear closet thus taking away half the hanging space.

Capt. Rich

If you want to see every rv made, go to the Tampa Supershow.

We looked at all three of the models at the Tampa show and liked the 3901 model the best. We liked these better than the Berkshire models.

Seems we r looking at the same coaches! The aria 3901 is hard to find it seems. I like what I see, but have questions about the overhead bunk and access in and out of the coach when down? Also I want to compare fit and finish with the newmar VLEDP 4037. I would expect similar price points between the two for bottom line pricing. Local Rv show is about 3 weeks away so hoping I can poke and prod in person then

I'd love to have a look at the 3901. It's perfect on paper, but I can't seem to find one in the real world. Every Thor dealer I check online says "coming soon". Has anyone on this forum taken delivery of one?

I saw this new type of front drop down sleeping area when at Thor on a personal tour, as the factory designers knew we had teen boys and a current Palazzo 33.3 bunk model with it's drop down front bunk...
this new type uses 'seat belts' to carry the load of the platform, and also to move the unit up and down without any 'rails', as on our Palazzo unit. It looks like it works smoothly, is more efficient, and quieter movement.

what we don't know is what we ALL want to know - will the public decide that a front drop down 'very temporary' sleeping area will work with a front passenger door entrance. By 'very temporary' I mean that once you let the front unit down to 'sleep on', you have effectively blocked the front entrance/exit, to a great degree.
I can see it's effectiveness if you are the type to really want to 'entertain' sleeping more bodies, or another area for children, but without being able to leave the sleeping are down during the day, you make it a very 'temporary sleeping area' that can only be brought down once the front door is closed and locked for the night...

on the flip side, our Palazzo's front bunk is usable ALWAYS, and does not block any doorway since we have a mid entrance door - even when traveling it does not HAVE to be all the way up.

I really LIKE the idea of the front sleeping area, but the passenger front door entrance seem to be the issue - I don't know how it will really appeal to the buying public.
(but, it IS optional, if desired, though I can see that most dealers will probably be ordering it WITH this feature)

Both the Venetian and the Aria have this option.

There is NO comparison between Newmar's fit and finish and Thor's

After much comparison we put a deposit on a 2018 Aria 3901.
We checked out the Aria extensively going to the Thor facility 3 different times getting private tours.
We get ours mid July.
Can't wait.
