2018 Thor Axis new problem, Charger maybe?

During pre-Hurricane preps, discovered my 3 year old chassis battery was dead. What a pain to replace! Then I attempted to start the generator, and it appears my coach batteries are dead. Checked all breakers, no trips, don't see any blown 12v fuses. I'm not sure where the battery charger is, or troubleshooting steps. Any tips? Just looking for my next step after the hurricane passes...

Thanks

How did you store it ?
I store mine with "salesman" switches off, neg posts unhooked, and trickle chargers on each battery set.
But then I have mine in our barn over the winter.
If you just park it with a full charge and you disconnect the batteries, it should be fine for 6 months or more.

Sounds like you have some kind of parasitic draw on both sets.

I own an Axis.

We're you on shore power when the batteries went dead ?
If yes, did you have the Use/Store switch ON. It needs to be on for the converter/charger to charge the house batteries. As the house batteries charge, the BIM charges the chassis battery.

If your not plugging the shore cord in, the batteries will run down over a few weeks.

Best thing is to stop by and run the generator every 2 weeks. A hour or two of generator running, with the Use/Store switch on, should keep all of the batteries charged.
Turn the Use/Store switch off once done charging.

The converter/charger is in with the fuses/circuit breakers. The panel that holds the cover on also hides the converter. Take it off and the converter is on the bottom. Nothing to see down there, tests can be done at the fuse panel.

Details on problem

I was connected to shore power with the switch on. Here in Florida, I leave the AC on about 88 degrees to prevent mildew. Been doing this for years. After the storm passes, I will take off the panel and check with my VOM. I thought I could start the generator with the chassis battery, but I guess not. I'll post findings.

Thanks everyone.

Jump start the engine, and go for a drive - like to Atlanta to NIRVC. Unless the batteries are beyond redemption (and at 3 years, you're on the back side of useful life) you'll be charged and safer from the hurricane.
