5-Star tuning opinions/problems/results for Ford V-10 Triton

I'm interested in the opinion of these forums as to pros/cons, problems/results of 5-star tuning reprogram. How many have spent the $500 and is it worth it. Has it ever gone bad and created more problems? Is it as easy as hooking it up and running a program to re-program your computer? Does this void any warranties?

If it went bad for you what was the procedure to go back?

All in all those who did it problems or not would you do it all over and is it worth the money?

Thanks.

Adam, until you get some first hand responses, use the search mode function for some info.

It does seem to be a popular item for those with the five speed transmission, with a lot of positive responses!

Awesome! Huge difference especially with the tranny shift points. Very happy with mine!

CrimeCrunchr & Steeljag, thank you both for your responses! Makes a huge difference in the 4-speed, 5-speed & 6- speed transmission.

Adam1219, There a ton of pros for using our tune. You'll have more power, improved torque, vastly improved shifting without compromising your factory reliability. The install only takes around 5-7 minutes. Install is also as simply as connecting and selecting program. Once programming has begun the tuner will take over and finish the process for you. With the tuner you will still have your full factory warranty. If the device ever fails there are ways to reset the coach to factory and retune with a different tuner. Many will echo the value of the tune. If you're close to our location we can always demo the tune in your vehicle for you.

I had the 5 star tune in my last MH and loved it so much that when we got our new to us coach the 5 Star tune was the 1st thing to do. I did have to purchase a new tune as they are specific to your coach. A new tune for our different MH was $65 and glad to pay that to support an awesome product.

I did have some trouble getting the tune in as it didn't seem to work as the previous one. A call to 5 star to find out i probably needed to update my 5 yer old device. Again i had a problem updating my device so a call to them and they remotely took over control of my computer (with my permission) and in a minute all was dupdated. It then took me the usual 5 min to load the new tune.

Get as soon as you can.

Thanks Bruce,

My chassis is a 2004 F53, I cannot remember if it's 4 or 5 speed transmission.

I mainly drive on fairly flat roads in Michigan with not many hills. What will the tune do for me?

Edit: I am not really interested in performance, more so fuel economy.

Our last MH was a 2004 F53 18k lb chassis to that had the 5 star tune. We live in east central FL. and that MH did most of its travels on flat terrain. You will experience the trans not downshifting when in cruise control going over an overpass and feel the added torque and HP. Not a signifant improvement in gas mileage, a slight increas like about 1/2 mpg better. Makes driving more enjoyable.
