A.C.E. 29.2 - HDMI cable broken
I think I am screwed, the HDMI cable got ripped out of the Dish DVR yesterday, so it's toast. No way in hell to re run that cable easily. This is the cable that runs from the back of the TV, over to the cabinet on the right side of the coach. What a crappy weekend, nothing went right.

I just got off the phone with Thor, it's like ground hog day with them, getting someone on the phone that is technical is tough.

Thor phone techs = worthless
Not able to give me an answer as to the possibility of running a new HDMI cable. I think I know the answer, and that's no, not without severe modification. I had a stereo guy come over and look at it, those guys can come up with creative ideas when it comes to hiding cables. He gave me a few options if we relocate the Dish DVR to a new spot. Great...

Fixed - had it spliced. Took about 2 hours to do it neatly with solder and shrink wrap, about 20 solder conenctions. I was able to get the repaired part pushed through the gromet and into the wall, so it looks like it never happened. What a pain in the A!
I'm still waiting for Thor to get back to me on the fix....
I tested the video quality, it's fine, no issues. This will work for now as I don't plan to have this coach long.

I had the same thing happen to mine. After some deliberating Thor came up with a good solution. They added a piece of "crown" moulding above the door. It runs between the two cabinets on either side of the door. They placed the HDMI cable inside the moulding. It actually looks better than just having the wall and ceiling meet. The moulding matches the cabinets perfectly.

That is a really good idea, I decided to splice mine, and it worked out well. I had to splice about 20 connections, and stuff those butt joints in he false wall of the cabinet. I got it done, if you looked at it, you would never tell it was spliced. Total job took me 3 hours, pain in the azz.
